Rehabilitation Council of India — a statutory body of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, constituted under the RCI Act 1992

This is a registration, not a certificate. It appears on the Central Rehabilitation Register, which is public. It can be checked without contacting this academy, and it is the reason the scope statement at the foot of every page on this site is worded as precisely as it is.

It registers the practitioner, not the method. The Council registers rehabilitation professionals. It does not endorse Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and nothing on this site should be read as suggesting otherwise.

PhD, Buddhist Studies

University of Jammu — Post Graduate Department of Buddhist Studies

A doctorate in Buddhist Studies is not a doctorate in NLP, in neuroscience or in hypnosis, and it is not offered here as one. What it adds is a rare contemplative and phenomenological dimension to work in human transformation — formal training in traditions that have been mapping attention, state and identity for a very long time, examined by a university rather than asserted in a brochure.

Certified Instructor

National Guild of Hypnotists, USA — founded 1950, the oldest and largest hypnosis organisation in the world

Instructor standing authorises him to train and certify hypnotists in his own right. It is held independently of NLP — which matters, because NLP's language patterns are borrowed from hypnosis, and a trainer who holds only the borrowing teaches the technique without the ground beneath it.

Fourteen years' direct study — Dr. Ajay Kotwal

Kashmir Shaivism · Tantra · meditation · non-duality — no certificate exists, and none is claimed

This is the longest single training in the record and the only one with no document behind it, because none was ever issued. It was a teacher and a student, for fourteen years. It is set out here rather than omitted, with the ways a stranger can test it.

Dr. Kotwal introduced him to NLP in 1990 — two years after taking a doctorate at the University of Jammu on the one-act plays of George Bernard Shaw. Before his withdrawal he was Professor of Functional English at GGM Science College, Jammu, where students called him Shakespeare. A professor of the English language who became a Himalayan mystic, and the man who handed an eighteen-year-old a discipline built on the structure of language. The East–West bridge this academy talks about was, first, one person.

That training cannot be repeated. Dr. Kotwal has for some years been in retreat and no longer teaches or meets anyone, in person or otherwise.

Project Management — "across" youth empowerment

Swiss Red Cross Youth — across Youth Summer Camp, Switzerland

Completed inside an international Red Cross youth programme, not bought from a training provider. Places at these camps went to national delegates selected by their own societies, and the workshops were assessed by the Swiss Red Cross Youth staff who ran them. Five half days, signed by the workshop trainer and the programme's project manager.

It is also the first of six consecutive years of work in Switzerland, and it predates the NLP-Akademie appointment by a year.

The second year, returning to the same programme. Yvor Broer, who signed the 2003 certificate as workshop trainer, signed the Belgian partnership agreement at Nottwil as Chair of The Knot the same summer — the relationship was continuous rather than a single visit.

MA Psychology — Organisational Behaviour

The formal grounding in psychology, and the specialisation that explains why the corporate work reads the way it does. Organisational behaviour is the study of how people actually function inside institutions, which is where most of the training on the following ledger was delivered.

Yoga Siromani — Teacher of Yoga

Conferred for services rendered to the propagation of yoga rather than for attending a course — a recognition, not a completion. It carries a diploma number and a date, which is why it appears here rather than as a line in a biography.

Austrian Youth Red Cross — 47th International Study and Friendship Camp

The earliest dated international document in the archive, and it records a leadership role rather than attendance. He led the Indian delegation, two years before the Swiss NLP relationship began.

Certificate of Appreciation — Composite Rehabilitation Camp

A volunteer certificate, and it is shown as one. It appears on this page for a single reason: it is the earliest documented work with persons with disabilities, dated December 2000, under the same ministry whose statutory council registered him as a rehabilitation professional twenty-four years later. First document to last, one ministry.
